Experience the natural beauty of Howth Head as you walk on paths through hilly and rugged terrain. The peninsula was originally an island but is now connected to the mainland via a tombolo, or narrow strip of land. Enjoy the picturesque scenery and watch for wildlife that thrives on the seaside cliffs. On a clear day, you can see the Wicklow Mountains and Dublin in the distance. Leave time for a stop at the Baily lighthouse and Howth, a nearby fishing village. Using our world travel planner, Howth attractions like Howth Head can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • All Ireland is beautiful but Howth has something special! It is best to take a walk with a guide who tells us about the history of the place, the landscapes are stunning, houses, roads, is beautiful! If you have several days in Dublin, I recommend spending a day in Howth!

  • Lovely walk to do. Gets pretty busy with tourists in the summer months, but the rest of the year it is fine. Pretty windy in general!
  • Glorious place to empty your mind and take in all nature has to offer.
  • Very nice view, if weather allows I recommend hiking around the area.
