  • Beautiful route, great bus: you don't have the problem of attention and you can look around, admiring the "green" Ireland "in peace!

  • Such a fabulous route - ideal on a motorcycle :o) I stayed in Glencolmcille, County Donegal at the Trade Winds B&B for £25 a night including a hearty breakfast.  more »
  • You have to drive some of the wild atlantic way. It's a long way and at some parts the road was not so good but the view will reward you.  more »

  • We had an amazing adventure with Wild Atlantic Way Day Tours. I had really wanted to get out to the Aren Islands and see the Cliffs of Moher, but we didn't rent a car, so I wasn't sure what all was possible. The tour we took with Atlantic Way was amazing from start to finish! Our guide was knowledgeable and funny, all you come to expect from an Irish tour guide! It makes for a long day seeing the cliffs and the trip out to the Aren Islands, but it's oh so worth it! I would highly recommend them for any day trips from Galway you want to take!

Where to stay in Galway

Stay at the center of Ireland's "Most Irish City," Galway City, by booking a hotel or hostel near Eyre Square, from which all city sights are walkable. If you prefer accommodation with more character, stay at a charming guesthouse or bed and breakfast just outside of the center, or look for lodging in the city's Latin Quarter, a bohemian neighborhood lined with cafes, galleries, and pubs. If you want to explore Galway County, book accommodations in the city, since it's a tourism and transportation hub on the West Coast. If you prefer the quiet countryside, seek out small, family-owned guesthouses on the Aran Islands or a cottage on the Connemara Peninsula.
