Galway Bay, Galway

(4.6/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Walk along the beaches of Galway Bay, one of the area's most picturesque spots just southwest of the city. You may recognize the name from a John Lennon tune--he is only one of many that have sung about this bay. Walk along the beaches, and if you catch them on a dry day, sit and enjoy the swans swimming in the area. Nearby is the Long Walk, a row of colourful houses that line the water. Cap off your time here with a pint of Guinness at a nearby pub, or hang around for nightlife if you're in the mood. Using our international travel planner, Galway attractions like Galway Bay can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.
