Active for 800 years, Hook Lighthouse represents the oldest operational lighthouse in the world. The lighthouse has been active since the structure was finished in the 13th century. William Marshal, the Earl of Pembroke, built this Norman tower in partnership with his Lordship of Leinster. Take a guided tour, which ends at the top of the lighthouse with stunning views of the natural surroundings. Watch for seals, dolphins, and whales in the nearby waters. If you've worked up an appetite, head to the cafe or enjoy a picnic on site. For a souvenir, visit the gift shop.
