  • Enniscorthy is one of those little Irish town that visitors dream about. It is simply adorable. The castle is nice and well preserved.
  • I am originally from Enniscorthy, yet had never visited the castle. There isn't much to do in the area when you've done it all, so I thought I'd venture here whilst my partner was visiting the area fo...  more »

  • A spectacular historical stop off for anybody visiting Co. Wexford. Enniscorthy Castle dates from around 1200 A.D. and has an incredible history having survived battles and turbulent times, including a visit by Cromwell's forces in 1649. The building which stands in the shadow of Vinegar Hill, is now a museum under the management of Wexford County Council and offers guided tours by day. Ghost hunts and paranormal investigations are also available a number of times per year. The staff are approachable , friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit.
  • Was great visiting it last Christmas- beware, might be children attractions only this time of year.
  • Small but lovely regional museum. From the dungeon to the roof, there was something to learn on every floor. The kids loved the costumes chest and wandering around the Castle.
  • Fantastic self guided tour for all the family. Steeped in history this is a must on things to do in Wexford. Some wonderful views of Enniscorthy including Vinegar Hill from the roof. Staff very accommodating.
  • A great guided tour and lots to see. Very interesting Eileen Gray exhibition.
