  • Particularly beautiful park. Surprising rose garden and beautiful Fountain. You can go walking or sitting on one of the couches in the rose garden.

  • We discovered this garden almost by chance while wandering in a cloudy morning of our trip to Dublin and we were excited and I can't understand why we excluded as a tourist destination by organized tours. Embodies that spirit bleak and Ossianic cycle, typical of the Anglo-Saxon countries, an enchanted place, still and silent, that stride heavily with the noise and bustle of the city. StrA.

  • It's overshadowed by the Phoenix Park in the other side of the river, but the War Memorial Gardens are well worth a visit. One of the nicest places in Dublin and hidden away from the crowds. A lovely ...  more »

  • Such a beautiful tranquil place!! You can take a peaceful walk along the Liffey watching the rowing teams or just simply sit in the perfectly maintained gardens. The main circular coliseum area with the roses in bloom is stunning. Considering there's a main road just over the wall you can't hear the traffic. Ideal for children to see a piece of Irish history and remember the fallen in battle. Disabled accessibility is excellent and plenty of parking. Ideal family trip.
  • I simply love this place. Perfect for a run, walk, picnic, or just chilling with friend. If you have the opportunity, talk to one of the staff or go for a guided tour. All the facts about the War Memorial Gardens are very interesting.
  • love this place but there is a huge problem with large amounts of dogs off lead, I'm a dog lover but not happy with the roaming canines pissing on my newspaper as I relax. It's a people's park not a canine park. Well done to the minority who keep their dogs under control.
  • Gorgeous place! It definitely worths a visit! The roses garden is wonderful!
  • Breath taking memorial garden on the banks of the liffey...designed by world class designer letyuns. Has two sunken rose gardens flanking two pairs of bookrooms in granite...which are representative of rhe four provinces in Ireland...a hidden gem off the usual tourist trail...spectacular when the roses are in bloom

Where to stay in Dublin

Dublin offers everything from luxury hotels to eclectic guesthouses. Explore over 1,000 years of history in the city on foot by staying at one of the hotels or hostels in the city center. The south side of the river has always been a popular place to stay, particularly near Temple University or the tourist nightlife center Temple Bar, but a new crop of attractive options has popped up on the north side as well. For more affordable accommodations, try a hostel or make your way toward St. Stephen's Green for a more comfortable stay at a mid-range hotel. If the artistic spirit of Dublin is what beckoned you, spend your holiday in a guesthouse near the creative Lower Gardiner Street.
