The Irish House Party, Dublin

4.2
#19 of 270 in Nightlife in Dublin
In an 18th-century townhouse, The Irish House Party offers a blend of music, dancing, and dining. When you drop by for this evening of authentic local entertainment, you'll not only see some of Ireland's best performers, but also learn a great deal about Irish musical and dance heritage. The three-course dinner treats you to traditional specialties and a range of beverages, after which you'll move into the parlor room, which doubles as a performance area. You can meet and talk to the musicians, and if the spirit moves you, even perform a song of your own. If you prefer to skip dinner, you can purchase the "show only" ticket. Check the website for more info, and look for special package deals that include guided bike tours of Dublin. • Walking distance from our reasonably priced hotel. The Guineas beef stew was deep and flavorful without being heavy. I thought the food and drink was great. We sat in a group of folks who didn't know each other, and it turned out to be great fun, as if they paid attention to groupings. The show was a small group of talented artists who clearly have fun doing what they do and brought us along with them. I was impressed that the drummer dancer brought on stage a very young budding Irish dancer from the audience and worked her right into the number. Bravo!
  • A little expensive (50 euro) but I ate a great dinner with new people and enjoyed a wonderful show of Irish folk music and tap dancing
  • What fun!...the meal was very good and the party even better. Worth the money
  • Very good food and outstanding entertainment by Irish musicians and dancer. Highly recommend you take the time to treat yourself to an evening's performance.
  • The entertainment was good. The dinner before hand was marginal at best
