  • The entire park surrounding this monment has many other attractions to keep one busy, but the trees and unique plants make it a restful place in the heart of Dublin. I try to spend a few hours there e...  read more »
  • Another statue, why? Well, of course I understand the point but it is done in less than five minutes. Then I thought it was so much fun to see the House where he was born.

  • Oscar Wilde is one of Dublin and so also this wonderfully successful statue. The overbearing, interfering all views of the statue is just awesome. It is fairer than any vertical bust with rigid look could Oscar Wilde. Read quotes of Wilde with views of the statue but 1-2. A nice feeling. This, she is ideally at the edge of the Park, so you can immediately combine their visit with a wonderful walk.

  • Seems to be a normal living house. Just saw it from the outside.
  • 1. A little sincerity is a dangerous thing, and a great deal of it is absolutely fatal. 2. A man can be happy with any woman as long as he does not love her. 3. Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much. 4. America is the only country that went from barbarism to decadence without civilization in between. 5. Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination. 6. Arguments are to be avoided; they are always vulgar and often convincing. 7. Biography lends to death a new terror. 8. Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months. 9. I am not young enough to know everything. 10. I think that God in creating Man somewhat overestimated his ability. 11. I was working on the proof of one of my poems all the morning, and took out a comma. In the afternoon I put it back again. 12. Illusion is the first of all pleasures. 13. It is a very sad thing that nowadays there is so little useless information. 14. Most modern calendars mar the sweet simplicity of our lives by reminding us that each day that passes is the anniversary of some perfectly uninteresting event. 15. One should always play fairly when one has the winning cards. 16. Patriotism is the virtue of the vicious. 17. Selfishness is not living as one wishes to live, it is asking others to live as one wishes to live. 18. The only thing to do with good advice is pass it on. It is never any use to oneself. 19. The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about. 20. The true mystery of the world is the visible, not the invisible.
  • Oscar Wilde's Statue (not house) I love the statue. It totally captures the subject's personality, in a way that would have probably amused the hell out of Oscar Wilde himself. Nice set up, beautifully framed by a bunch of trees...
  • This point marks the House, but it's the work dedicated facing. The expression on this statue I reveal all the essence Oscar Wilde. As for the House is not open to the public, outside has a targha indicating that the writer has lived there.
