Create an itinerary including Dublinia
Dublinia features three themed areas, with costumed actors recreating a bygone era of explorers and knights and encouraging the visitors to join in the role-play. This living history museum, located within one of the city's two major medieval cathedrals, narrates Dublin's history through reconstructions of Viking and medieval buildings and street scenes. You can learn about life onboard a Viking ship, take part in a medieval fair, and discover how historians and scientists work together to uncover the city's archeological secrets. End your visit by climbing the museum's medieval tower, which offers a bird's-eye view the surrounding area. Check online for tickets combining museum admission with a tour of the cathedral's medieval crypt. • My husband thoroughly enjoyed this museum. Very well organized, interesting trip through history and close to Christchurch. Must see and do! Make sure to allocate several hours to see it all.

  • The girlfriend and I went to Dublinia and we were NOT disappointed! One of the coolest, most immersive museums I've ever been to. Beautiful, well-represented and fun! This place takes you through the centuries learning about the city of Dublin. Much of what they have is hands-on and perfect for kids and young people. I would go back in a heart beat, informative yet entertaining!
  • Fantastic look back in time in the heart of Dublin. Brilliant interactive look at the viking amd medieval ages of Dublin. Something to keep the attention of both young and old. The guides are full of knowledge and answer all questions put to them. There is a lovely coffee shop and the gift shop has items that will suit most budgets. You can also climb the 96 steps to the top of the tower for a unique view of the city. Really enjoyed this even though I have lived and worked in Dublin for 40 years.
  • This was a very cute museum. I liked that it showed houses that you could walk into and that they had people throughout doing different things to talk to you about the Vikings or the medieval times. They also had a lot of hands on interactions for the kiddos. It was very educational for adults and children!! The line looked long when we arrived at opening but it went very quickly.
  • Great fun. Allow 1:45 to see it all. Lots of interactive material and lots of reading. Some cool excavated pieces as well. And lots of recreated rooms, outfits and stands. At the end you can visit the tower which gives a nice view of the Church and the city.
  • Had a great experience here, there were a lot of interactive elements throughout the exhibition. It's a fun museum to visit regardless of age and adults are actively encouraged to take part in the several activities. Whether you come as a family, on a school trip or as an adult; you'll go home having had a fun experience.
