  • This place is huge and has a lot of amazing books. The prices are reasonable (2 to 10 euros) and they are quite diverse. I spent a good hour just browsing and I'm planning on going back there, just to...  more »
  • They have a great selection of new books on the ground floor. Many (not all) are very discounted. Probably the only shop where you will pick up a Hardback for 5 Euro. I usually have a look here before...  more »

  • If there is a more perfect bargain bookstore anywhere in Ireland, please tell me. Chapters has it all, great layout, with the emphasis on the books, not the peripherals, unbelievable selection, sorted by genre, huge amount of bargain books (quality stuff, not joblot remainders), great staff, friendly and helpful, excellent help in searching for that rare treasure. If you love books, this is nirvana.
  • I love this book store. Upstairs is dedicated entirely to second hand books. It's set out in genres and has a good horror section that is not mixed with Sci Fi and Fantasy which is really useful. I am also a big fan of their translated fiction shelves which are wide and varied. However, you pay for second hand books downstairs where they sell their new copies at often highly discounted rates. So have a quick look at their shelves downstairs before purchasing your second hand copies. Sometimes a new copy is the same price or cheaper!
  • Great bookshop with a huge selection of new and used books. Helpful, knowledgeable staff. Could easily spend at least an hour browsing here
  • Amazing store with a massive selection of books and other items. Did my christmas shopping here as well as made use of their big selection of games and other items for gifts for children in need this christmas. Highly recommended store.
  • Chapters takes insomma so many second hand books you usually have to make an appointment for more than 40-50 books. I took a cheeky chance & arrived in with 55. Fantastic range and amount of books. Dublin's best bookshop!

Where to stay in Dublin

Dublin offers everything from luxury hotels to eclectic guesthouses. Explore over 1,000 years of history in the city on foot by staying at one of the hotels or hostels in the city center. The south side of the river has always been a popular place to stay, particularly near Temple University or the tourist nightlife center Temple Bar, but a new crop of attractive options has popped up on the north side as well. For more affordable accommodations, try a hostel or make your way toward St. Stephen's Green for a more comfortable stay at a mid-range hotel. If the artistic spirit of Dublin is what beckoned you, spend your holiday in a guesthouse near the creative Lower Gardiner Street.
