  • This was once a crucial part of the water supply for the city of Dublin but now it is a charming quiet retreat from the bustle of the city. The main feature is the basin and the walkway around it. You...  more »
  • Small friendly public park about 15 minutes from O Connell Street of small gardens; 2 small lakes where ducks are fantastic; some brief swans; a little quiet time

  • A good place to distract the gaze in the center of the city. Much wildlife including the cat that comes to ask for food and gets you over. If you are in the northern area, do not miss it.

  • Well hidden jewellery. Peaceful and quiet most of the time, except for wildlife noises.
  • A quiet oasis minutes from the cacaphony of sounds on Dorset Street.
  • I have been living in this area from 11 years and this is one of my favorite places.
  • This is an oasis in the city! Bring your kids to feed the ducks, moorhens and the seagulls of course, or your granny for a walk around.
  • A nice quiet park, 10 mins walk for the hustle and bustle of the city centre

Where to stay in Dublin

Dublin offers everything from luxury hotels to eclectic guesthouses. Explore over 1,000 years of history in the city on foot by staying at one of the hotels or hostels in the city center. The south side of the river has always been a popular place to stay, particularly near Temple University or the tourist nightlife center Temple Bar, but a new crop of attractive options has popped up on the north side as well. For more affordable accommodations, try a hostel or make your way toward St. Stephen's Green for a more comfortable stay at a mid-range hotel. If the artistic spirit of Dublin is what beckoned you, spend your holiday in a guesthouse near the creative Lower Gardiner Street.
