  • Gate goes back centuries and was designed in part to protect against Cromwell. You can walk right through it  more »
  • The tower/gate is a part of the buildings and walls from ancient history, although the gate was in the second line. Nice to view, but it takes no more than 10 minutes for a visit.  more »
  • Beautiful old town gate with evidence of fortified architecture. Please mind the traffic if you are there at a busier time of the day as the curve can be quick.  more »

  • One of the last remaining vestiges of the old town walls in Drogheda, Saint Lawrence's Gate may not be worth a trip in and of itself, but if your in town, it's worth checking out.
  • Well maintained historical structure. No access into gate. Cars still use as pass through. Some lovely photo opportunities.
  • A rare piece of history displaying old medieval Drogheda. Excellent structure and well worth visiting.
