Create an itinerary including Curracloe Beach
Fringed by pine forests and grassy sand dunes, Curracloe Beach features soft white sand lapped by a gentle surf. Locals flock to this Blue Flag-rated beach on sunny days, but thanks to its vastness, you won't have trouble finding a quiet spot just for yourself. A nature trail runs through the neighboring nature reserve, while the shacks serving snacks, selling sun cream, and renting bodyboards are available at the several access points. Thanks to its resemblance to Omaha Beach, the strand was featured in the opening scene of Spielberg's blockbuster movie "Saving Private Ryan." A visit to Curracloe Beach represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Curracloe travel planner to plot your vacation.

  • One of the most stunning blue flags seas in southern Ireland. The beach goes on for miles and miles and is absolutely stunning. Mostly Sand beach but also has amazing Sand dunes where the kids can play for hours. There’s also a great surf shack where you can get pizzas coffees and ice creams and you can also learn how to surf in those summer months.
  • Absolutely stunning beach! What a fabulous gem to discover. We visited in Sept 2022 and it was perfect. Warm enough to swim in the water too.
  • Cannot begin to explain how wonderful this beach is. Happened to stumble across this beach on our recent visit to Wexford and to say we were pleasantly surprised was an under statement. Spectacularly amazing. The white shimmering sand was out of this world. Remarkably long stretch of beach where you would sink into the thick white sand. Was utterly blown away. The strand goes on for more than the eye can see, and not an ounce of litter to be seen. Really worth a visit.
  • Iconic movie landscape, the sea here is a really nice emerald green during sunny days. Love it.
  • Beautiful beach. Fab place for a long walk. Plenty of room to find your own spot. Great services. Toilets well maintained and very clean
