  • What a hidden gem, We went for a walk in what i would describe as a magical experience , had a lovely cup of coffee in the restaurant . Then we got Jam eggs and honey from a stall near the entrance. Its an honesty box???? country people are so trusting. The eggs were like what i remembered when i was a kid, I love this place
  • Not so much of a botanical garden, if to be honest. Probably better time to visit is during spring-summer. Decent cafe on site.
  • It's a work in progress bringing the once neglected gardens at Kilmacurragh back to their original glory but the staff of the National Botanic Gardens have done a phenomenal amount of work over the past few years and this is a great place to visit if you want to see a huge variety of mature rhododendrons and lots of other rare plants. You'll need to visit in April, May or early June to get the full benefit of them all in flower but any time of the year is worth a visit. There's also a lovely coffee shop/ restaurant on site now.
  • The gardens are amazing!! Whatever time of year you visit there is always something to see. We recommend going in late April early May when the Rhododendrons are in bloom. The colours are beautiful!! There is a beautiful Laurel tree and if you pick one of the golden leaves that are on the floor and break it, the aroma is beautiful!! So much to see! There's a reasonably priced coffee shop there too 😀
  • Its a quiet place for a break and walk around the gardens and a nice stop off for a cuppa at the cafe'
