  • lovely beautiful church, not overdone, simple and beautiful roof. it has retained the best bits of the old abbey. some churches you go to are overblown with design, not here  more »
  • Duiske Abbey doesn't look that exciting from outside but step inside and it is quite a different story, with the light streaming in from the beautiful arched windows. The abbey is in daily use so as w...  more »

  • Graiguenamanagh is steeped in history. There is loads of places to visit and enjoy.. The Abbey The river barrow on the Quay.. Go for a trip on a barge on the river to see St Mulling..or if you prefer to walk, take to the scenic walkway along the river. Duiske glass up high street. Cushendale Mill.. Take a trip to Mount Brandon. Just a short drive away will bring you to Ullard and the ruin of St Figure Church.. make sure to take a drink of the water in the well as the saying goes 'Whoever drinks the water from the well will never drown. the beautiful surrounding villages of Gowran, there you have the ever popular Reptile zoo, Gowran Castle and the historic church.. You pass Gowran Racecourse just a mile outside the village. Farther down to Thomastown.. You have Mount Juliet Golf course and hotel and the fabulous steeped in history Jerpoint Abbey, where you can visit the tomb of St Nicholas..yes Santa Clause is buried there. You can go fishing om the barrow flowing through Graiguenamanagh or the river Nore flowing through Thomastown. This is only a brief history of the area which has the most beautiful countryside views in the world Take a trip to my beautiful hometown of Graiguenamanagh.
  • I strongly object to your previous reviewer. I was born and raised in this beautiful historic village. I've since worked and operated businesses in several countries and Graignamanagh is hard to beat. I can proudly boast that you can take the " man from the bog but you can't take the man from the bog" I'M HAPPY TO BE ONE OF THEM"
  • Beautiful original architecture.
  • Nice Abbey but not a lot to see in the locality. Worth a visit for the history. Parking can be a problem though
