  • I have been to Kerry, several times but this was a first to Bonane. With two boys aged 22 and 18 and a husband, finding something for all ages proved often difficult! Outside and clambering often seem...  more »

  • Only three stars as I did not find it that interesting. You start off with a nice car park and information center followed by a small fairy walk. Up and up the hill it goes from there. Further up and up and you come to the main attraction. From their you can walk in a circle around, read the signs and imagine how it must have been like to live many many years ago. For first time Ireland visitors this might be a nice experience. I have seen better and would only recommend if you are interested at all.
  • We found this as we were driving by, and it was such an adorable treasure of our trip. First there is this small path that would be DELIGHTFUL for kids (we enjoyed the hell out of it too) as it's full of fairy houses and you feel like you're in a magical little fairy forest. Then the main path takes you up maybe a kilometer to the area where you can see a cool site where the ancient populations lived there. Just a very cute, short, small detour that involves nature with history.
  • 4€ for an adult is a bit pricey for what's offered in my opinion... Apart from that a nice little park on a hill (prepare for steep(-ish) walks) with some ancient sites. A Stone Circle, a fort, the remains of a stone cottage all with info-tables!
  • We always go for a walk there if weather is good. It's not too long and it's interesting. I recommend to pack a lunch if the weather is good. The views from the top are spectacular!
  • Nice walk, friendly staff, interesting site and information.

Stay a while in the enchanting and colorful town of Kenmare, which has dozens of bed and breakfasts, guesthouses, and hotels. The most prevelant form of lodging are the traditional Irish bed and breakfasts, many of which are located in the town's center.
