  • We visited as a part of our tour group. We boarded a train car pulled by a tractor to the hillside. Dan demonstrated how to harvest peat. We also saw Connemara horses and a old homestead.  more »

  • Love this place so does everyone I bring here. I am a bus driver and never had any passingers not enjoy it.well worth a visit
  • Please have a look into the Connemara. You can do this by visiting your great guide Than O'Hara's Martin takes you during the Tour of more than an hour into the mountains. You look over a beautiful natural area to the ocean. You visit the old house you see here of the O'Hara's and one in the West of Ireland peat word, by hand. Also are here a nice shop. A genuine rader!

Where to stay in Clifden

The authentic charms of Clifden are best experienced while staying in the center of this seaside town. Here you will find several places to spend the night, from upscale hotels to quaint bed and breakfasts. For a more typical Irish experience, opt for the latter. Backpackers generally head for the town's hostels, while travelers with a larger budget often stay at the 19th-century castle-turned-hotel. If price is not a concern, look into renting a traditional Irish home.
