  • Has to be one of the best in the country, definitely my favourite in Donegal. The 36 holes complex is amazingly good. The Old Course is classic links. Subtle and tricky especially the back 9 with many holes running along the coast. Gets better with every time you play it. The Glashedy is more a modern links with bit more impact when you first play it. The Par 3 7th is one of the most beautiful holes I've ever played. Tee box set high int the dunes hitting down to a seemingly tiny green with a pond to the right and trouble left. Can be a flick with a wedge or a full blooded drive depending on the wind. The other 17 holes don't disappoint either. Both courses offer stunning views and Glashedy Island is nearly always visible from most view points. Move this 36 hole complex towards Belfast or Dublin and the costs would likely be prohibitive for most and it's place in course ranking would probably jump up. If you are visiting from over seas to play some true links golf then don't overlook this Northern gem. It's definitely one for the bucket list.
