Nano Nagle Place is an historic oasis in the centre of bustling Cork city. The lovingly restored 18th century walled convent and contemplative gardens are home to our heritage centre, exhibition space, archive, garden cafe, community hub and design store. The heritage centre explores the fascinating history of 18th century Cork, the ‘Venice of the Atlantic’, with its merchant princes and slum housing. It tells the extraordinary story of how one woman, Nano Nagle, worked tirelessly to help and educate the poor and destitute of the city and how the order she founded, the Presentation Sisters, travelled across the globe to continue her work.Make Nano Nagle Place a centerpiece of your Cork vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Cork route planner.

This is a wonderful and peaceful retreat in the midst of Cork City. The mission of Nano Nagle Place makes this site even more impressive.

A hidden gem in the city. Gardens are beautiful, interesting award-winning museum. Very nice gift and book shops. Nice cafe that you can eat in or get takeaway coffees/cakes.

I began my journey with Nano Nagle Place last year when I started volunteering with the Cork Migrant Center. Every Wednesday during the summer I was there and every Wednesday after I was so excited to go back! To this day I am still so fascinated by the beauty of Nano Nagle Place and all it's history which makes the place so much more beautiful, each time I visit I find it more gorgeous than the last time and I always learn something new.

Small, not worth the money. Gardens were okay. Staff very friendly and approachable. They know a lot about the museum. But unfortunately didn't meet my expectations.

Nano Nagle Place is a unique complex in the heart of Cork city. The place has a museum, heritage rooms, gardens, the Good Day Deli, both a design and gift shop, and a Cork focused book shop in the museum. The gorgeous regenerated convent buildings are home to many educational charities. I advise anyone who hasn't been there to go there. Visiting this place is a magical experience as it retains a balance of cultural history and a modern green walkway.

Such a beautiful place so close to the city. Gorgeous gardens and the Good Day Deli is a must. Gift shop as you come in with lovely handmade and unique bits. The museum looks well worth a visit - we will be back!
