  • This park is a great place to get away from it all anytime of the year with great scenery, nature in the heart of the city!! Also there is, toilet facilities, a café and its close to the local university (University College Cork) and is accessible by either walking distance to a bus service to town as well. Take bus number 8 from Patrick Street to get there as it's a treasure with it's pleasant riverside views as well. A definite must if you're in need of tranquility and wellness.
  • GREAT place to see and a paradise for children playing area is quite big.and they also have a great museum it's a must see for anyone going there.
  • This is a wonderful park set alongside a flowing river with plenty of tall trees and a small cafe. There's a walk with a series of interesting sculptures and places for children to play, and little surprises to discover every here and there. Worth a trip to quiet the mind.
  • Lovely parkland setting close to city centre. Great river views and wide variety of plants and specimen trees.
  • Lovely park just minutes from the city centre .Plenty of seating and loads open green areas for kids to play on.Nice big play area too with swings/slides/monkey bars/rope bridges/seesaws/climbing frames/send out ideal for kids.Public toilets available ,security in site, museum/gallery /coffee shop all in one location.Had great family /social events here throughout the year and beautiful river walks/fountains/shrubbery/talk trees.Next to the famous "Shakey Bridge" a well known corkonian landmark :)

Where to stay in Cork

A destination in and of itself, Cork City has a dense center with plenty of hotels and hostels. Head north of the city center for affordable options like mid-range hotels and guesthouses. From here, you can walk or bike to all of the sights in the heart of the city. If everything is booked, or if you've simply come to explore the city's surrounding nature, check out the campgrounds about ten minutes from the center of town by car. There are also a number of charming bed and breakfasts, guesthouses, and other pensions in the outskirts, which can be a good option if you're using the city as a base for exploring the sights of Cork County.
