  • Really interesting tour. Best time is when the weather is good as its a lot of walking if you want to cover every bit of the island. The giudes were funny and factual. We had a guy named John who was very informative. There is a cafe with decent food and toilets.
  • loved it!! worth a visit. best time to go is before 2pm. after it gets crowded.
  • This historically finest place I've ever been. You cannot imagine how good it is. The volunteers show great love and passion for the fort. Can not say enough it would take to long. If you come to cork forget the poncie palaces, over priced food and drink. Put camden fort top of your list you will not be disappointed. 12 out of 10
  • Every spot in this site takes you deep into the history. Your imagination starts working when you see every detail of the fortification! I recommend visiting it, and having a break at it's wonderful balcony bar that's facing the harbor.
  • Beautiful location. Such friendly and helpful staff

Where to stay in Cork

A destination in and of itself, Cork City has a dense center with plenty of hotels and hostels. Head north of the city center for affordable options like mid-range hotels and guesthouses. From here, you can walk or bike to all of the sights in the heart of the city. If everything is booked, or if you've simply come to explore the city's surrounding nature, check out the campgrounds about ten minutes from the center of town by car. There are also a number of charming bed and breakfasts, guesthouses, and other pensions in the outskirts, which can be a good option if you're using the city as a base for exploring the sights of Cork County.
