I must say this is a delightful little museum. It recreates the house from 'The Quiet Man' filmed in Cong in the summer of 1951. However, interior scenes were shot in the USA so this beautiful little.... more »

If your a fan of this movie as myself and my wife are please take the time to view the areas of where the movie was filmed. It was enjoyable and the memories of the movie and being in the different locations where it was filmed made our day! Take the tour and the gift shop was reasonable.
If you like the movie Quiet Man or you are simply a John Wayne or Maureen O’Hara fan this is an absolute must!!! We did the driving tour with Lisa and loved every minute of it. Lisa not only quotes the movie at the scene locations, but she know lots of little tidbits that really rounded out the whole experience.
We were driving through Cong and stopped by and took the walking tour. Hardcore fans of the movie will love it (as did many in our tour group). We watched the movie the night before, which was good because there were a lot of very specific references. As a casual fan, I found it most interesting from the perspective of those living in the small town having a big Hollywood production come in, especially the old newspaper articles from the time. The museum itself is mostly replicas as opposed to original pieces from the movie and filming. Great for major fans, probably could be skipped by casual fans.
Awesome little museum and shop featuring items and memorabilia from the an amazing movie. The shop was on the top floor with very helpful and kind staff with enthusiasm and trivia for the John Ford masterpiece. The museum is definitely worth the €5 entrance fee with items from the movie, promotional posters, and replica items from the White a'morn cottage. The newspaper clippings from the 50s are especially cute and a nice slice of history. Definitely recommended for fans of the movie or the actors.
Lovely little shop. Lots of Quiet man related items and a small cinema downstairs(didn't get to that though). Weather was great when we went and the Abbey grounds had some beautiful nature scenes
