  • Over the last 6 years I've visited a vast majority of castles, gardens and ancient houses, and this was by far one of the best I've been too. I read it was a hidden gem, and it certainly was. The garden was incredible with free roaming chickens, trees, fountains and ponds, and the house was stacked with historical artifacts that most other places I've visited wouldn't even come close. The young lad giving the tour really knew his stuff and gave a fantastic overview of the history. The dungeon was without question the best part of the house, as it's the centre point of an old egyptian religion the family revived that id never heard of and really needs to be seen in person, as describing it wouldn't do it justice. Anyone with an interest in castles and the like, mark this place down on your to-do list as it's well worth the day trip.
  • This is a must visit for anyone who appreciates history or likes castles. Historical buildings, beautiful garden and small walking trail.
  • The family guide was brilliant. And the young girl with the glasses in the coffee shop was very helpful.
  • Stunning house and beautiful gardens. Amazing walks in the wilderness garden and yew tree avenue. Peacocks display in the gardens, pigs snuffle around and chickens scratch in the picturesque courtyard. The house tours are incredibly interesting and highly recommended. This was the best visit we made in the whole of Ireland, the staff and owners were incredibly helpful and delighted in showing us around. The kids loved running around and exploring. We will definitely come back again.
  • Fantastic place to visit . bit of history, beautiful gardens and some fun for the children.
