Enjoy coastal views along the smooth, sandy shores of Inchydoney Beach. This small island features beaches with a backdrop of dunes and was given the international Blue Flag award by the Foundation for Environmental Education. Head to this spot, just a short distance from Clonakilty, for a day of relaxation or recreation. The beach has its own surf school that welcomes both beginners and more experienced surfers. Meander along the seaside, take in rugged coastal views, and, if you would like to stay overnight, look into the nearby Inchydoney Island Lodge and Spa overlooking the shoreline. An excellent beach and an excellent place to have a good walk but can be very windy at the best of times. Very good for low surfing . more »
What an amazing beach! Lovely and quiet and goes on for miles! You can walk around the whole headland (but check the tide times first). No parking charge and you can get a coffee from the takeaway... more »
Great beach and very safe. Plenty of things to do in the area. Will be back again in the near future. more »
Good serene beach, breezy & visual treat to eyes. Spent a good peaceful afternoon walking on the beach. Limited parking space.
It's a nice and clean beach and surprisingly big compared to other beaches in Cork. You can enjoy a small Cliff walk also that is adjacent to the beach. Had a great time playing football, cricket and frisbee! We also took a pop-up shelter to set up our little picnic. A must-visit on a sunny day with low tide. If you are lucky, you can get parking closer to the beach otherwise it's a 5 minute walk. Parking is free
Lovely sandy beach , perfect for long walks , barefoot, along the water. Nice little coffee truck and the restaurant in the hotel is handy. I spend many a sunny day here. (Not that we get many of those in Ireland - but it's still my go to)
Fantastic huge beach, very clean, wonderful surf. Lots of enjoyment despite it raining, could imagine how lovely it would be on a warm sunny day. Also the little coffee shack did the best coffee and ice cream cones. Just super.
Beautiful soft sandy beach. Huge space for everyone & very safe. Love the little pools of water across the beach. Lovely local people & wash facilities easily accessible from the beach.
