Fota Wildlife Park, Carrigtwohill

#1 of 62 in Parks in County Cork
Must see · Zoo · Zoo / Aquarium
Without a cage or fence in sight, Fota Wildlife Park houses dozens of species of mammals and birds from habitats as diverse as deserts, savannas, tropical forests, wetlands, and oceans. Designed with unobtrusive barriers, the zoo's paddocks allow visitors to observe wild animals in natural settings closely resembling their native habitats. To explore the park's 30 hectares (75 acres) in mere minutes, hop on a tour train, whcih circles the grounds and makes stops at the education center created with the youngest visitors in mind. For a more personal experience with the animals, follow the 2 km (1.2 mi) circular trail as you watch for ring-tailed lemurs and squirrel monkeys, which are allowed to roam freely and interact with visitors. Put Fota Wildlife Park on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Carrigtwohill itinerary maker site.

  • First time being here today and I have to say it was amazing. ten times better than Dublin zoo. Seeing the giraffes and other animals roam is so great . Really loved it would go back again
  • Fota never fails to amazing. We could go there 7 days a week and still be entertained. And the conservation work carried out makes it even more special. Worth every penny
  • It was a great day out. It was very easy to see all the animals.the animals look very happy and cared for. Great food served ,not expensive. I thought it is much better than Dublin zoo. Parking is close by . I had no complains
  • A well maintained beautyful place for a day out with family. Very safe for kinds and they would be most happy to visit here. Opens at 10AM and closes at 6PM. The last entry time is at 4:30PM. Need to take entry ticket for 22€ for adult. Arranged seats for visitors to relax and shops available for quick bite. It was a awesome day out and would like to visit again. Great place.
  • Great place for a family day out even with small children. The park is clean and well maintained. There is few places in the park where you can buy food, coffee or you can bring picnic yourself. We all loved it and will go back again.
