Blarney Woollen Mills, Blarney

4.1
One of the premier manufacturers and retailers of Irish textiles, Blarney Woollen Mills produces Ireland's famous rope-knit sweaters. Other gifts, such as porcelain and linen, are also sold both at the shop and online. But the online store can't offer you the old-fashioned ambiance of the shop and mill. Housed inside a historic brick mill house, the attraction shares the property with a small hotel with ivy-covered walls. While the mill preserves the tradition of Irish crafts, it integrates the latest fashions into its sweater designs. Take a virtual tour of the attraction using the website, or stop by the storefront to browse the racks of well-crafted garments and collectibles. • This is an upscale woollen store. Very nice stuff here. The restaurant/pubs in the area are also nice. If you don't want to eat inside the Castle, this is basically a short walk for you.  more »
  • After the visit to the Blarney Castle we eat at Woolen Mill. Food was good and after being outside in the cold of the castle it was nice to sit and warm again.  more »

  • Very cozy and welcoming restaurant:) I️ just got a hot cocoa and jam donut which is delicious. The atmosphere here is very relaxing, you can even shop here to it has a kitchen shop & all sorts of food anything from: salads, handcrafted sandwiches, pizza, soup, veryyyyy yummy dessert sweets. Coffees, tea’s, hot cocoa, drinks, and more with plenty of seating. They even have a ice parlor. It’s also next the blarney castle which you should definitely go see it’s beautiful.
  • Great range of Irish and International Crafts under one roof. Great selection of woolen wear, kitchen, household, furniture, jewellery, pottery among other crafts. Shopping in a relaxed atmosphere an experience to savour unlike shopping malls.
  • Was nice to have a look round and have some lunch in the mill restaurant but to be honest how ridiculous are the prices. Quality of materials and workmanship should only elevate the price of things to certain point but after this it just gets silly. Clearly aimed at tourists from abroad who like Irish crafts and wools. They must find people daft enough to part with the money they are asking for things but you aught to check your sanity of what your getting for your money before you part with it. The restaurant was an odd experience two sides to it and two tills with hot and cold food different both sides. So if you had a family where individuals wanted different things from different sides it couldn't work with a single payment. Seriously needs sorting out what a mess layout wise. That said the quality of the food was OK.
