Blarney Woollen Mills, Blarney

(4.1/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
One of the premier manufacturers and retailers of Irish textiles, Blarney Woollen Mills produces Ireland's famous rope-knit sweaters. Other gifts, such as porcelain and linen, are also sold both at the shop and online. But the online store can't offer you the old-fashioned ambiance of the shop and mill. Housed inside a historic brick mill house, the attraction shares the property with a small hotel with ivy-covered walls. While the mill preserves the tradition of Irish crafts, it integrates the latest fashions into its sweater designs. Take a virtual tour of the attraction using the website, or stop by the storefront to browse the racks of well-crafted garments and collectibles. • The self described largest Irish gift shop in the country certainly lives up to its reputation. Very touristy but also very worth it to find unique souvenirs and keep sakes. The multi storied building offers something for next, woman, and children. As well as a coffee shop and bar!
  • Nice place. One star off for being something of a tourist trap. The cashier was surprised when she learned my wife and I were NOT on a bus tour.
  • A very enjoyable shopping experience. If you plan on shopping there a second time, make sure to get a loyalty card, as it gives a 10% discount.
  • Very large variety of goods for sale. Prices are ok - typical sort of tourist pricing. If you're looking for 'Made in Ireland', watch the tags carefully because not everything is made there.
  • Nice atmosphere. Good quality Irish products and a lovely coffee shop. Especially nice at Christmas.
