  • On your way from the cliffs of Moher to Galway, this is a lovely place to stop. The chocolate is expensive but excellent and worth it. If you pass by, turn around and go back and stop. A beautiful sun...  more »

  • A nice place to sit down and have a rest. Definitely did expect more. The beverages were quite cold when we got them, I drank my hot chocolate very quickly as it was lukewarm. I was also expecting a bit more considering the place is a chocolate factory. Found everything to be mediocre mainly because my expectations were high. The hot chocolate was 4.50 euros and one of the tarts were 5.70 so very generously priced for what you're getting. We went to the chocolate factory at the back and there was a nice man who gave us a little mini tour and got to try some chocolate. Overall a good experience with good staff but could've been much better.
  • During a guided tour to the Cliffs of Moher, the driver recommended Hazel Mountain as a place to stop along the way. They have a cafe in front, and the chocolate "factory" in around the right side of the building. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman running the front desk who then gave us a tour of where the make the chocolate and explained the entire process from bean to box. We tried some samples and ended up buying 5 boxes of chocolate to take home as gifts. If you love chocolate, I cannot recommend this place enough. You won't be disappointed.
  • On our way to Cliff of Moher, we accidentally discovered this good place - Hazel Mountain Chocolate. At here, you can experience the making process of real chocolate. The staff there is patiently to show and explain how they make the chocolate from the raw material even you can taste some chocolates made there. The chocolate really tastes good compared with normal chocolate which we can buy from the supermarket. However, i feel like the chocolate a bit pricey and thus only bought few.
  • Found this hidden gem on the way to Cliffs of Moher. Absolutely LOVED the chocolate experience and will recommend to family and friends. Giles was an expert in his field, warm, welcoming, passionate, entertaining, and a guy who truly cares about his work and wants to share it with others. One might even go as far as calling him a chocolate magician. It was a pleasure meeting him. BUT, the unfortunate part of this experience was the cafe. The owner of the cafe turned our trip from sweet to bitter. While waiting for our take away beverages, we were browsing the seating area (which was absolutely empty except for the owner). We were paying customers purchasing lattes from the cafe and got scolded for taking photos. “This is not a museum” were her exact words. Rude and unwelcoming. Too bad her sour disposition ruined the beauty of the cafe and an otherwise lovely experience. The rest of the cafe staff were pleasant and accommodating. Would have given this a 5 star because of Giles, but the service provided by the owner was a disappointment.
  • This place is awesome. You can see them make the chocolate and the staff explains the whole process. The chocolate taste good and that is what matters most.
