Burren Birds of Prey Centre provides educational flying displays of birds of prey, and the opportunity to interact with the birds first-hand. At the flying display you will see different hawks, eagles, falcons, and owls from around the world fly over your heads as the trainer describes their habits to you. Take the hawk walk to get up close and personal with the birds; you'll be given an introduction to falconry and have the chance to handle a Harris hawk for the hour. The instructor will teach you how to release and call the hawk while walking through the woods. • There are 3 things to do here, and combining them for a few hours on a combo ticket is well worth the time and cost. For 18 euros we were able to start at this Birds of Prey center, and we certainly enjoyed walking around the different birds, in spite of the fact that I warn you their audio guide is not working on many of the birds. What makes it awesome is that the people who work with them are incredibly nice and happy to show us the birds up close and personal. So we spent a good half an hour with James who took out an amazing falcon, and held him for us, fed him inches from us, and gave us and a few others a demonstration of the magnificent bird flying and even chasing a toy he had. That up close experience made it special. Then the cheese and fudge shop was adorable, it's right next to it, and some very friendly women gave explanations and samples of delicious cheeses and fudge, as well as a great explanation of how the cheeses are made. After that we went up the hill to the cave and got a great 30 minute walking tour into the cave. For 18 euros we were very happy with our afternoon and can easily recommend it.
