  • Tried to visit yesterday and was really upset to see a (brand new looking) sign saying the place is only open from June - September. It looked neat on the outside but it was completely locked up.

  • Gorgeous Castle on the Shannon Estuary; though not restored, the fact that it is not restored only adds to its charm. Set on an island reached by a short Drive and walk, the castle is accessible (with care) all the way to the top floor, from where amazing views of the Estuary and North Kerry coast await.
  • A remarkable old building, standing proud on the river, amazing brickwork. Worth a visit to sit and enjoy the whole scene, very tranquil
  • Have a great castle all to yourself. There's a tiny carpark, a sign and you can climb the spiral staircase five floors.
  • Amazing well preserved.
  • Interesting place worth a visit past the place many times before but never stopped,Good history.
