Ballybunion Golf Club, Ballybunion

#1 of 18 in Golf in County Kerry
President Bill Clinton and professional golfer Tom Watson have played Ballybunion Golf Club, one of the best link courses in the world. Though its location in southeastern Ireland makes it a difficult course to get to, many think the natural beauty of this golf destination makes the trip worth it. This historic club was founded in 1893 and offers two courses, the Old Course and Cashen Course. The Old Course was home to the Irish Open of the 2000 European Tour. You can book a day to play on one or both of these two famous courses. • Real gem of a golf course. Bill Clinton played here back in the day. There is a statue of him in the town. Worth a look. 2 Scenic links courses. Challenging for any golfer. The 19th hole is also good with a warm welcome and decent food. Don't ignore the town though. Some great traditional bars to visit in this typically Irish seaside town.
  • The Old Course was beautiful, a testament to playing conservative and smart golf. Take your time and take the breathtaking scenery in. The only thing I could say is that the caddie was not the best of entertainers and did not talk history or important parts of the course. Do your research and learn about this course that was founded in 1893.
  • Had not so nice soup there. Beautiful view
  • Everything was great. Treat you like a member for the day. FANTASTIC.
  • Arguably best 36 holes in one spot in Ireland. Most genuine course and everyone is very friendly. I joined as an overseas member after playing it and love going back 2 or 3 times a year!
