  • To visit the gradens is 8 euro per adult and 5 euro per child which we felt was far too expensive for the size of the gardens. The gardens while nice are very small. The resturant seems lovely but nee...  more »

  • My good friend John and I and my Cavashon dog, Molly, after reading about Burtown House over the weekend, visited you at lunchtime today (8 Feb 17). And what a "wonderful" experience it proved to be - and I mean wonderful in its full original sense. Following a delightful stroll through the various gardens and wood, colourfully and lushly carpeted with aconites and snowdrops, we deposited Molly in the car for a snooze while we sampled a very tasty lunch indeed, indulgently finishing off with the chocolate ginger cake and the apple crumble. A delicious experience and all the better for being totally organic! So looking forward to visiting again in April when we hope to see the Magnolias in bloom. Best wishes for your continued blossoming of this very worthwhile endeavour. Eithne Sherry
  • Terrible experience. Went with my young daughter to walk in the gardens and get something to eat. Weather was beautiful, a lovely day looked on the cards. I drove 40 mins to get there, thought a quick bite to eat would be ideal before the walk. The cafe was busy but there was two empty tables on the grass outside and plenty of space to just lay on the grass. Catherine, obviously the person running the cafe on the day, must have been stressed out because of a function that was on. She forgot the business she works in and refused my daughter and I, stating they were too busy and there was no room at the obviously empty tables. I was actually shocked, we made the effort to visit the house and gardens, and she didn't spare two minutes of her time to try and accommodate us. This was all after waiting around for ten minutes before someone even acknowledged us. I well believe that this could be a lovely place to visit, unfortunately, that wasn't the case for us and I genuinely felt put out.
  • Lovely sculpture gardens and food.
  • Very expensive, very poor service. The table next to me was just getting their food when were finished even though they were there before us. Everything arrived at the table one at a time in no particular order.
  • Beautiful countryside restaurant. Food is delicious.
