Tayto Park, Ashbourne

4.0
Have a family fun day at Tayto Park, an amusement park centered around one of the country's most popular brands of chips and popcorn. Opened in 2010, the park features a zoo where you can come face-to-face with unusual farm animals, including miniature donkeys, pygmy goats, Ouessant sheep, and Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs. Other family-friendly attractions include rock-climbing walls, mechanical bull rides, live puppet shows, and face-painting activities. Take a self-guided factory tour to see the popular potato chips made from start to finish, and then visit the park's teahouse, built into a giant sycamore tree and serving tea, coffee, light snacks, and homemade ice cream. • Overall had a good day out, kids enjoyed themselves, rollercoaster is awesome. Entry fee bit pricy for 2 adults 2 kids thought but hey everyone is going to pay it, food is nice and a reasonable price....  more »
  • Excellent park but extremely busy. Queuing for some attractions very long and a lot of time wasted. Children’s park excellent and zoo superb.  more »

  • The debate it could be better? It couldn't be better because it's based in Ireland. A country where it always rains, unfortunately. Though the park tries to run its course even through the rain, the rides do get shut off! No refund if your day is spoilt because of the weather so it's best to keep checking on the weather forecast up until the day you go.. Lots of things to do. A great family, solo, couple, day out. Eve great for a date. 👌🏻💯 This place just isn't for kids, it's for everyone. The kid rides and amusements are suitable for adult sizes so adults get to enjoy an incredible day out also. €15 entry.. €15 wristband. If you don't get the wristband you will be paying over €50/€60 worth extra on top of your entry cost, that's for a child to experience everything. I say get the wristband. Management perhaps need to review the Tayto gift shop, overpriced. Especially for a family travelling afar paying out on food and tickets can be costly. But the day in itself is amazing! Highly recommend to all. Not just family with kids. Free parking. And direction signposted good. On a quiet day it's perfect!
  • Visited in the summer time which I won't be doing again. Way to busy and the park isn't big enough with enough content to entertain when the queues are 1-2 hours long. On the plus side I found the park staff to be great and very helpful. I think if I had visited at a less busy time and actually gotten to get on any rides the score would be higher
  • Had the best time! The roller coaster is surprisingly awesome! I had to go twice! I recommend getting the wrist band if you're willing to go more than once in the attractions... It turned out cheaper for me! The best thing though, was the wild birds show... Never seen anything like that before.
  • Tayto park is a great day out for the family really had a fun filled day when we went lots to do and see. Just need alot of money as expensive if you have a big family. We went on a great day as know one in it had the run of the place so got our value for money. Won't get that again for long time.
  • Great place for a family day out, especially if the weather is dry and there is no rain. All kids will enjoy the different rides. However for children under eighty four cm there are very few rides that they are allowed to go on. Even while seating on their parents knees. The most important thing is too come as early as possible as the queues do get longer and longer as the day goes on. The new car ride is very popular which seems even long queues. There are a reasonably good selection of food and it isn't over priced. Obviously taytos can be purchased anywhere and everywhere
