Tayto Park, Ashbourne

4.0
Have a family fun day at Tayto Park, an amusement park centered around one of the country's most popular brands of chips and popcorn. Opened in 2010, the park features a zoo where you can come face-to-face with unusual farm animals, including miniature donkeys, pygmy goats, Ouessant sheep, and Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs. Other family-friendly attractions include rock-climbing walls, mechanical bull rides, live puppet shows, and face-painting activities. Take a self-guided factory tour to see the popular potato chips made from start to finish, and then visit the park's teahouse, built into a giant sycamore tree and serving tea, coffee, light snacks, and homemade ice cream. • Was there with my 6 years old and he really enjoyed it. Got the wristband which I think was good idea because he was repeating many of the rides... definitely going back next summer  more »

  • Great place for all ages. There's something here for everybody. You could quite easily spend a whole day. If it's hot and sunny bring swimming gear for the kids. They'll want to cool down in the splash areas. Roller coaster and other attractions are great fun. Can't wait to try the new Viking ride. Food is good value here as well.
  • Expensive but almost worth it. Great place. Wide range of food options, toilets everywhere. Suits all ages. 84cm is the minimum height for most rides. Kids this height can go on near everything with an adult. My 4 year old sister is a chicken and she loved it in the lashings of rain. I know we should dress appropriately but not even the queue areas are sheltered for the rain.
  • Fantastic theme park and zoo, something for every person and age in this park. Great rides and a top notch rollercoaster make this place a must visit, plenty parking spaces, especially for disabled people which are located at the entrance. You can visit their crisp making factory located at the park and watch how the crisps are made, every body gets a free bag of crisps as they leave the park.
  • First trip to the park. I wasnt expecting much but was very pleasantly surprised. Excellent value and great selection of rides and things to do once your kid is 1.1m or more. Less if they're smaller. Good clean facilities. No shortage of coffee, drinks sweets etc. And all well priced. Definitely recommend it.
  • We took 4 boys to tayto park.. we arrived at 10 and we didn't leave till 6.. it was amazing they had a ball.. I brought a picnic which saves a lot of money..so we just spent money on ice cream and drinks.. the Viking voyage was fantastic and worth the wait..the day flew by and the kids had a great experience which they'll remember for years to come..
