  • Nice. But a bit cozy
  • A tradition tells that once Buratha was a Christian shrine where a Christain leader named Hebar used to sit. He converted to Islam and went to Kufa with Amir-ol Mo’minin Al-Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (peace be upon him). The Christian shrine was turned into mosque when Al-Imam Ali (peace be upon him) passed by this place in year 37 AH after Nehrwan event, stayed here four days along with his two sons Al-Imam Al-Hasan and Al-Imam Al-Hussein (peace be upon them) and nearly 1,000 companions. Al-Imam Ali (peace be upon him) struck his hand on a black rock and water sweetest than honey began gushing out of it which gushes out even to-date. Today it is known as Be’r (well) Al-Imam Ali (peace be upon him). Ill and sick people get health by drinking this water. Those children who speak very late, they by taking this water begin speaking. The Imam (peace be upon him) said: Here (on the white rock) Mary (peace be upon her) gave birth to Prophet Christ (peace be upon him). The tradition says that after the water began gushing out of the rock with the miracle of Al-Imam Ali (peace be upon him), and his companions did ablution and drank the water, the Imam hinted at a near place and said to his companions: dig it, there are seven hands …, when they dug that place they discovered a white stone. The Imam (peace be upon him) then said: Here (on the white rock) Mary (peace be upon her) gave birth to Prophet Christ (peace be upon him).
