Yazd Art House, Yazd

#4 of 27 in Shopping in Iran
Art Gallery Museum
Appreciate the soft landscape spreading before you while sipping Iranian tea on the rooftop of Yazd Art House. Combination art gallery, cafe, and arts and crafts shop, this property offers visitors a bohemian atmosphere in a pleasant setting with red patterned fabrics and vibrantly painted, handmade pottery pieces--available for purchase at the small shops situated within the building. • This Café is located in the old town. Admission is paid 40,000 IRR per person if you do not consume. The ticket is valid for 2 visits. On the roof you enjoy a remarkable view of the city. If you have time, which unfortunately wasn't our case, you have interest to come in late afternoon and stay there until the sunset, when the sky is clear.

  • I'm no artist so I was not too crazy about the place. I love books but there weren't many to choose from and most are in Farsi or some other foreign language. Entrance is free but you have to pay if y...  more »
  • I came here for the roof top view on my evening walk and maybe a drink. When I got here it was so busy, I could find a seat outside. So I took a walk had a look at the view and left. I cannot speak on...  more »

  • Cool place with tasty food. The people working here are very nice. The place is very atmospheric. But the best thing that this place can offer is its view over Yazd. It's really beautiful. You can see tall wind catchers, minarets and hosseiniehs everywhere. P.S. Don't forget to taste Shooli, which is a vegetarian soup only cooked in Yazd.
  • Fantastic view of Yazd from the rooftop, seat and chill with the recommended tea of the day and don't forget to check the crafts shop, cute handmade pottery. Don't get put off by the entrance fee, it is negligible and you will only pay for the tea if you get one.
  • A house which they turn it to a Art house! it has nothing to do with art, they just sell some handicrafts in first floor and in the second floor they change the roof to a cafe and yes it has a good view
  • Nice and interesting place. Good Turkish coffee.
  • Nice rooftop dining area with good view of the old Yazd (you have to pay a small amount to get to the very top). Food was tasty. I'd visit again.

Where to stay in Yazd

Yazd offers visitors plenty of choice when it comes to accommodation, with hotels and guesthouses mostly scattered around the streets that make up the Old Town. For an authentic experience, you can choose one of the increasingly popular hotels situated in converted traditional houses. Designed in a typical Persian style, the lodgings boast peaceful courtyards, where you can hang out and sample local drinks and dishes. The traditional hotels usually offer both private and dormitory style rooms, while a couple of affordable modern hotels provide cozy, clean rooms, free wifi, and other basic amenities.
