Dolat-Abad Garden, Yazd

4.1
#3 of 69 in Parks in Iran
Surrounded by Yazdi architecture, Dolat-Abad Garden features cypress and pomegranate trees, grapevines, and a long pool. Surrounding the garden is a series of buildings from the Zandieh era. Pay special attention to the massive wind trapper, which at 33 m (108 ft) high remains the central architectural piece of this attraction. Because of its landscaped design and irrigation system, this garden serves as an important oasis in the middle of an arid desert. • beautiful vast garden built for kings and lords hundreds years ago. stunning paintings on tiles and a big eight-part air hole which is known as the tallest in the world.
  • This place has a thousand year old wind catcher and it is not only beautiful but very interesting. Absolutely worth the visit, I had been wanting to see this for 25 years
  • It is a nice and peaceful place, also pavillion is quite nice to see and fountain too. Garden is far from impressive, it is more agriculturaly oriented than look good. But 200000 rial is far too much for this place. It is also worth mentioning that entrance is on western side of garden... Other entrances are closed.
  • It was great to seat after long drive in the garden with traditional music and birds. Great stmosfer was here. Toilets could be bettter.
  • Mohammad taqi khan known as the Great khan was the progenitor of the dynasty of khans in Yazd.He built a qanat named Dolatabad.Later he ordered the construction of the esrate of Dolatabad Garden as his residence along the waters flowing from the qanat. The amazing and astounding estate has a vestibule., a huge wind tower, a veranda covered with mirrors, and a splendid facade. The lush garden is a paradise with trees likr the pine and , cypress piercing the skies, an assortmeny of flowers, fruit trees,vineyards...offering a green carpet panaroma. The soaring 34 meter wind tower, the highest in the world, extends to the enviou estate a great beauty and preoccupies the minds of visitoes young and old.
