Milad Tower, Tehran

4.1
Rising high above Tehran's urban landscape, Milad Tower provides panoramic views of the city. Featuring a revolving restaurant and observation deck, the tower opened in 2009, fast becoming an iconic structure on the city's skyline. Take the elevator to the top floors, where you can grab a bite to eat some 300 m (984 ft) above ground, or stop at the public art gallery surrounded by sprawling vistas of Tehran. With a total height of 435 m (1,427 ft), this structure remains one of the tallest tower in the world. • If we want to see Tehran seen from above, either we go there or in the adjacent mountains. The view is beautiful, but nothing must in my opinion.

  • the tallest and the best place for hanging out especially for activities. Iranian people frequently come here. It is very nice going to the top of the tower and looking over the city below.  more »
  • The observation deck, I feel, offers a better view than the one on Burj al Khalifa. During winter time the view is fantastic of snow capped mountains surrounding the city. Would definitely recommend a...  more »

  • Milad Tower is the 6th tallest radio tower in the world. The architecture is marvelous. Family place. Can spend a whole day. It has two types of tickets. One for the open air observatory and other is for top dome, museums etc. Revolving restaurant require additional charges. Best to go at the afternoon and view sunset. At night, Tehran looks beautiful from the top.
  • Milad tower is a great place for joining lots of events and concerts that are held throughout the year. It also has a magnificent view of Tehran and you can have a whole view of the city. Overall, it has now become a new symbol of Tehran and is a cool place to have some fun and a good chance to escape the hustle and bustle of the city!
  • The best point of view of Tehran. If you have the chance to go when it is sunny, but not dusty then you will have a breathtaking sight on the city. You have to pay to get in but it is definitely worth it. At the top there are an outside panorama view deck and an exhibition on women outfits. Not to miss !!!
  • Milad tower is a place very difficult to reach. Our taxi driver didn't know how to get there so he left us by the hospital of where we had to take a bus and then go by feet. So make sure your taxi driver knows exactly where he is going. Visit by sunset to make sure you will see Tehran by night from there. The lights of the crazy traffic are fantastic. If you go during the day, you probably won't see much because of the pollution. Once up, don't eat their cakes they have few clients so their cakes are probably fresh only one day a week. Their club sandwiches looked good but i didn't try them . #londonartandfood
  • If you are visiting Tehran for the first time make sure you put some time aside in your itinerary to visit this tower. It is without a doubt one of the mega structures of modern times and so it has become the landmark of the city or even the country. Inside at the ground level you could find some seasonal exhibitions and store which usually sell handicrafts or Iranian art pieces. Then you can go to the deck and the dome by taking one of the elevators. There you can find the real deal. Make sure you visit this place in a clean day since the pollution usually blocks the sight to the city. There is a restaurant in one of the upper stories which in my opinion is overpriced considering the average quality of the food.

Where to stay in Tehran

The northern districts of Tehran possess a more suburban, cosmopolitan feel, and a more spacious form, with a number of accommodations geared towards international tourism. Luxury hotels with pools overlooking the parks sit alongside some more basic and humble offerings, usually located on the lesser side streets. The southern districts offer a livelier experience, where guesthouses, hostels, and simple hotels line the confusing bundle of winding streets. Of course, some areas of the south open up a little, and here you'll find a good number of standard and mid-range hotels with varying levels of amenities.
