Holy Shrine of Emam Khomeini, Tehran

(3.3/5 based on 130+ reviews on the web)
See the power of unity in grief at Holy Shrine of Emam Khomeini, a holy shrine built solely from financial gifts of the public and different organizations. The construction took time; 40 days after Imam Khomeini's death, only the burial chamber and grave itself existed. Admire the 8 m (26 ft) tall dome surrounded by four minarets which radiates modern dignity. The intricate stained-glass windows paint the burial chamber in different colors, contributing to the beauty of the building. Put Holy Shrine of Emam Khomeini and other Tehran attractions into our Tehran family vacation planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • ...und strange at the same time. Impressive in its size, but strange for Europeans certainly because of the many little things on the premises such as restaurants and takeaways, ATMs or the advertising for banks, not really can be brought to bear with a tomb in line. We have discovered for example a disguised Bugs Bunny, a figure which we would have expected this place surely as last. So be it other countries, other customs. I wonder when this permanent construction site will be once completed.
