#10 of 21 in Museums in Tehran
Learn about the history of Iranian cinema at Cinema Museum. Exhibits include equipment, pictures, and posters of Iranian cinema through history, all with explanations in English. The palace where the museum is housed today was once a residence of the Qajar family, and it had many owners before it became a museum in 2002. Visit the cafe and the restaurant for a break; afterward watch some classic or modern Iranian movies in the 121-seat cinema on site. Iranian friends that got us in this museum which is exciting. The building itself is beautiful and the garden has lots of charm. Of course, some names of Iranian cinema tell us nothing, but others are well known in Europe. Posters with titles in french, a room with very realistic pictures of the Iranian world of cinema, the Cannes Award-winning...

very interesting place for iranian cinema lovers. I think it is better than Ghazali (شهرک سینمایی غزالی)

Without great knowledge of Iranian cinema history, it's difficult to relate to the exhibited objects. There is not much of explanation thus my visit was more watching without really understanding. Prices for tourists are like seven times higher than for Iranians. Still a beautiful building with a relaxing park.

It has a good collection of few items related to Iranian cinema, with lots of images of actors although it is not complete. The building is old and belong to Qajar era.

Nothing special for a tourist, could be only interesting for people who've followed Iranian cinema in the past 5 decades. Even for people who know about Iranian cinema, the museum mostly offers old movie posters, nothing else. The museum is designed well though. Relatively cheap entrance fee.

Beautiful building, landscape and atmosphere to relax, have a cup of tea and buy handmade gifts or books. Breakfast was not very good at Viuna cafe but we enjoyed the garden and chilled out around the building.

Where to stay in Tehran

The northern districts of Tehran possess a more suburban, cosmopolitan feel, and a more spacious form, with a number of accommodations geared towards international tourism. Luxury hotels with pools overlooking the parks sit alongside some more basic and humble offerings, usually located on the lesser side streets. The southern districts offer a livelier experience, where guesthouses, hostels, and simple hotels line the confusing bundle of winding streets. Of course, some areas of the south open up a little, and here you'll find a good number of standard and mid-range hotels with varying levels of amenities.
