Poets Tomb (Maqbaratol Shoara), Tabriz

(2.7/5 based on 45+ reviews on the web)
Feel the presence of greatness at Poets Tomb (Maqbaratol Shoara), the final resting place of notable Eastern poets throughout history. Situated in the middle of a large garden, the cemetery represents a quiet and peaceful place free from the noise of the surrounding city. The first tombs have been here for almost a millennium, but the mausoleum itself was built in the 1970s by a former secretary of arts and culture. Take a walk through the site and reflect on the mesmerizing architecture, characterized by grand arches, rose windows, and engraved poems. Among the poets buried here lie Asadi Tusi and Aziz Dowlatabadi. Our Tabriz holiday planner makes visiting Poets Tomb (Maqbaratol Shoara) and other Tabriz attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • I loved the place. It was very quiet when I went there, so I had enough time to talk with local people. Tabriz is a romantic city and its people are really friendly.

  • the construction work is something special. For Westerners, the museum is difficult, it is overworking of Iranian poets, in itself a meoilijk topic
