Historic Site Tourist Spot
See the ancient cave houses of Kandovan, a small village on the slopes of Mt. Sahand. The village attracts visitors with its houses carved into the volcanic stone cliffs, hundreds of years old and still inhabited. Admire the eclectic structures sprawled across the rocky cliffside, eroded into interesting cone-like shapes, home to more than a hundred local families, and equipped with furniture, power, and some even with running water. The village also boasts a rock hotel, where you can stay in a stone-carved room for the night.
