Kabood (Goey) Mosque, Tabriz

Categories: Sacred & Religious Sites, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4/5 based on 65+ reviews on the web
Feel the spiritual atmoshere in Kabood (Goey) Mosque, a 15th century mosque. The structure suffered severe damage in an earthquake in the 18th century, and the reconstruction is still taking place. See the only original part of the mosque, the entrance hall or iwan, with its impressive blue tile work. Marvel at many inscriptions and arabesque patterns on the walls inside, and appreciate the striking mosaics. Since religious practices still take place here, you can also see ceremonies and prayer sessions.
