Greek Ship Khoula F, Kish Island

(3.5/5 based on 100+ reviews on the web)
A deserted shipwreck abandoned on the shores of Kish Island, Greek Ship Khoula F floats silently on the horizon like some forgotten ghost vessel. The ship successfully operated along the main trade routes for some 20 years before running aground in shallow waters off the island's coast in 1966. From the shore, look out to the haunting frame, the rusting silhouette glinting amber in the sun as the sea slowly reclaims what's left of this once powerful steamship. Plan to see Greek Ship Khoula F and other attractions that appeal to you using our Kish Island tour planner.

  • A very nice view specially in sunset. You can enjoy walking in the park seaside as well as seeing greek ship. Worth once visit.
  • A glorious place to watch the sun go down on the island, would advise you arrive a good half hour before as a lot of tour buses arrive with 15-20 mins to go and a horde of people defend on the beach, ...  more »
  • Give an opinion on a wreck seems pointless. The old boat looks more like a nothing. The only reason it is the yet it is simply that no one or the State doesn't want to pay to remove it. A wreck will remain a wreck. Nothing to do nothing to visit.

  • The ship was built by William Hamilton and Company in Port Glasgow, Scotland, and launched on 9 March 1943 as Empire Trumpet. The 7,059 GRT cargo ship was completed in April 1943 and under the ownership of the Ministry of War Transport was operated by the Larrinaga Steamship Company and T & J. Harrison Co., both of Liverpool. The ship was sold to T & J. Harrison in 1946 and renamed Naturalist. She was sold in 1959 to the Iranian Lloyd Company and renamed Persian Cyrus, and sold again in 1965 to Iranian Shipping Lines SA and renamed Hamadan. Finally in 1966, she was sold to P.J. Frangoulis and A.I. Cliafas, Greece and renamed Koula F
