Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse, Kashan
(4.3/5 based on 140 reviews on the web)
Elaborately decorated with turquoise and gold tiles, the quiet meditative ambiance of Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse evokes its past as an important public gathering place. The 16th-century hammam--named after a sultan who was buried in a nearby mausoleum--features an octagonal dressing area (Sarbineh) and a hot bathing hall (Garmkhaneh). It was restored on two occasions: after 1778 earthquake and in 1996. Take a self-guided tour through the hamam, and visit the rooftop to see many small domes and scenic views of the surroundings. • the complex is quite large. There is a very nice room and beautiful. Also the roof construction and the view from the roof to the neighborhood is definitely worth

  • My first and only bathhouse I visited during this trip. I guess one is enough to learn about common 'bathhouse' why it was there. Nice decoration.
  • The bath complex of the 16th century was rebuilt after an earthquake in the 18th century. The roof of the plant is also accessible. From there, one gains an impression of the water supply, which was carried out by a deep well. Until 40 years ago, bathhouses in Iran were still common. The society change made them but superfluous.

  • Great place with a lot of decorations. Visit it in order to understand How a tre persian hamman looks like. Besides from the roof you have a nice view of the town. Highly recommended!
  • Quite a nice ancient bathhouse, well maintained with beautiful tiles and paintings. Don't forget to get on the roof, it's worth the climb !
  • It's a sorrow that these bathhouses are obsolete in our modern lives.
  • Very nice spot! Old traditional bathhouse with an amazing view from the rooftop.
  • Go on the roof, it's a nice view from there.
