Bazaar of Kashan, Kashan

(3.5/5 based on 80+ reviews on the web)
Go for some street shopping at Bazaar of Kashan, a place used for trade since the 11th century, when it was first established during the Seljuk empire. Shop for a rich diversity of goods and mingle with the local crowd. You’ll find almost everything--from clothes, carpets, and jewelry, to food and spices. Reflect on the centuries-old architecture, highlights of which include the grand well from the 19th century, and a handful of small mosques scattered throughout. • Perfumes, colours, flavours, architecture, music, full experience of Persian art. Spices, textiles, perfumes, pastries, fruit, meat, clothes, copper and anything else you can imagine. An amazing dip where your 5 senses will be invaded from Persia. Beautiful spice shops including the millstone of turmeric, sellers of copper with a large number of objects that radiate between the artificial lights of the Bazaar. Let yourself be tempted by dates, pistachios and sweets ... At the end of the market the butcher could put a strain on your smell and your eyesight with showcases of Heads of sheep and cows on display. Beautiful getting lost in the alleys of the Bazaar, don't forget to look up, in some theaters architecture and the ceilings only really impressive and if you're lucky like us you happen to witness the singing of some local elder or hear him recite poetry. Inside the Bazaar a beautiful tea room in an old hammam where you can relax and smoking the traditional waterpipe.

  • This bazaar was the worst we have been in Iran. There is a lot of China stuff and a lot of jewelry shops, which had bad taste things. No textiles or quality things. We just lost our time.  more »
