Abbasian House, Kashan

(3.9/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web)
A prime example of the city's 18th-century residential architecture, Abbasian House belonged to a notable member of the clergy. Fairly well restored, today the house serves as a museum and features six courtyards, a garden pool, a large domed porch, secret passageways, and many chambers. Admire the intricate stucco work and stone carvings adorning its walls and ceilings--one of which resembles the starry sky with its mosaic of mirror pieces. Notice the distinct door knockers, which announced male and female guests with the different sounds they make. Work out when and for how long to visit Abbasian House and other Kashan attractions using our handy Kashan vacation builder.

  • This house is so marvelous that it could very well be a palace. Tabatei House is probably has a better details that this but you have to visit this house as well, especially if you get a combo ticket....  more »
  • It is the largest of the three traditional houses that can be accessed with combined ticket. However, it is the least spectacular of the three. If you combined ticket, should take advantage of and visit it. If this is not the case, it is perfectly dispensable. The restaurant has nothing to do with the House and recommend eating or at least drinking a tea.

  • The biggest of the well-known houses in kashan, it is a pretty place and very empty and non touristy. Lots of staircases, mirror halls and rooms to discover and symmetrical designs. I like the carving...  more »
