Abbasian House, Kashan

Categories: Specialty Museums, Museums
Inspirock Rating:
4/5 based on 100+ reviews on the web
A prime example of the city's 18th-century residential architecture, Abbasian House belonged to a notable member of the clergy. Fairly well restored, today the house serves as a museum and features six courtyards, a garden pool, a large domed porch, secret passageways, and many chambers. Admire the intricate stucco work and stone carvings adorning its walls and ceilings--one of which resembles the starry sky with its mosaic of mirror pieces. Notice the distinct door knockers, which announced male and female guests with the different sounds they make. • In the mansion's original glass was built in the 19th century ago, some had a courtyard. Arches and openwork that modern architecture is not glitz, but it felt good sense.
