Learn about the Indonesian independence movement by observing some 50 dioramas at Yogyakarta Fortress Museum, a converted Dutch-era fort. The colonial architecture makes an interesting diversion in itself, though the museum's content--which also includes slide shows, videos, and artifacts relating to the independence struggle--appeals more to Indonesian patriotism than historical scrutiny.
