Pindul Cave, Yogyakarta

3.8
#2 of 54 in Adventure in Java
Explore Pindul Cave by foot or by inner tube. See jagged stalactites, stalagmites, and glinting mineral veins, and crawl through natural tunnels to secret chambers on the walking tour. On the cave tubing tour, float along leisurely as you admire the whorled rock formations, some of which feature in local folk tales. A highlight is the large inner chamber, where a beam of sunlight lances through the darkness from a hole in the roof. • Love it. A lot of wild nature adventures. Nice villagers around location. A place to enjoy and relax
  • 100k rp for the cave tubing. Guide was fluent in english and pretty witty. Had a fun short floating time and learnt a little more on the formation of the cave structure. Gets really dark in the cave though.
  • New experience for me going into cave of stalactite and stalagmite by wading across the river through the cave. Pindul Cave is located in a village named Bejiharjo, east of Yogyakarta city. Pindul Cave is a cave formed by karst with underground river. The long of the cave is about 350 m with the width average 4 m, height about 5 m from the water surface, the depth of the water between 1-12 m. In some parts of the top of the cave, we could see bats living there, other parts we could see swallow bird. Visitors can wade the river using tire that float above underground river inside the cave. This activity known as cave tubing. We need life belt, life vest, and head lamp. These equipments have been provided by the organizer. It spends about 40-60 minutes to pass the cave. It's a challenging experience!
  • This was a new exprience for me!! At first, I was actually hesitant to go here. Eventually, I did it and I did not regret my decision!! Do not be worried about drowning , as they will give you swimming vests!! Just a suggestion to not bring anything here. There are many people who sell the waterproof cases, but it is still not so effective. There are my friends who went here who lost their glasses and even phone!! Just comply with the rules and you are all set!!
  • must visit,if u want to really enjoy that place...avoid weekend, and try to arrive before 9AM
