3.7/5 based on 280+ reviews on the web
Hunt for a bargain at Pasar Beringharjo, a lively market filled with stalls selling batik garments, with low-priced clothes and shoe stores upstairs. In the western wing, you can buy antiques and knick-knacks, or browse the vendors selling fruits, vegetables, and spices, including heaping piles of chili peppers. Be sure to barter for a better price. Don't be surprised by the strong food smells, drifting in from stalls selling traditional Indonesian dishes just outside the market. • Ethnic market for tourists or local people to buy everything. You can buy batik, clothes, keris or maybe you want to find any spice for your food. You can find it here. You need a good bargaining skill here. So you can have a great price. :)
  • A traditional market that is always busy. You could get various items (e.g. batik, bags, souvenirs, gold, silver, various food and beverage) with cheap price. Haggling skill would be very useful, even though generally the price is already reasonable. Parking space could be hard to find during busy times. Taking a taxi or public transportation to get here is recommended.
  • the biggest local market in jogja. it is surrounded by many modern store that makes this area is the best shopping center in jogja. you could find almost anything here. bargain skills are needed. one should compare the price to another store nearby, or online.
  • You can buy Yogyakarta handycraft and souvenier with cheaper price (let try yr maximal bergaining here and get it)
  • Biggest traditional market in Yogyakarta, located in the center of the city, on Malioboro Street, near the end of street. You can buy groceries, food, souvenirs, clothes, almost anything. It's a traditional market, so when the rain comes, it can be dirty and wet. Yet you can buy things cheaper here. Sometimes you need to bargain to get the best price. If you go by car, you have to park your vehicle on the designated parking spots, and walk from there.
