Pasar Beringharjo, Yogyakarta

3.8
#3 of 22 in Shopping in Yogyakarta
Hunt for a bargain at Pasar Beringharjo, a lively market filled with stalls selling batik garments, with low-priced clothes and shoe stores upstairs. In the western wing, you can buy antiques and knick-knacks, or browse the vendors selling fruits, vegetables, and spices, including heaping piles of chili peppers. Be sure to barter for a better price. Don't be surprised by the strong food smells, drifting in from stalls selling traditional Indonesian dishes just outside the market. Very large market! First almost only clothes and batik items. The very back vegetables, fruits and spices. For a pittance fresh mango, limes, tangerines and what kind of vegetables bought. Always worth a visit, through walking.

This is a traditional market, but you can feel this place look like a mall, with AC and escalator. Clean and comfortable for shopping.

The traditional Jogja's market where sells many kinds of batik. You can find so many stuff that have a batik style on it. This place are really recommend to buy the souvenir or marchandise of Yogjakarta. And it has a low price. But you can find this traditional market only early in the morning
