Flea Market Shopping
Hunt for a bargain at Pasar Beringharjo, a lively market filled with stalls selling batik garments, with low-priced clothes and shoe stores upstairs. In the western wing, you can buy antiques and knick-knacks, or browse the vendors selling fruits, vegetables, and spices, including heaping piles of chili peppers. Be sure to barter for a better price. Don't be surprised by the strong food smells, drifting in from stalls selling traditional Indonesian dishes just outside the market. • Pasar Beringharjo is an authentic, albeit not exciting, local market experience in downtown Yogya. Nice add-on if you are around Jl. Malioboro anyway, otherwise don't bother.  more »
  • They sell lots of things here from the wet market, fresh vege, souvenir, cloths to wedding dress and many more.. Most of the items can also be found outside the market near Malioboro street.  more »
  • Otherwise it would just be a very hot, confusing maze of small stalls who sells everything with a lot (i mean a lot) of people. But if you love the local traditional market experience, then be sure to...  more »

  • This traditional market is very good place to buy BATIK but you must clever to bargain the price that seller offers to you. So in the end you will get nice batik with cheap price also..... this work for me !!!
  • The most popular traditional souvenir market in Jogja. It's known for Batik and handicrafts, from low to high quality. Price is very affordable, don't forget to bargain with the seller !
  • You can get jammed here. There are too many people inside. Batik and other traditional goods are available. Good quality handicrafts are very cheap, but you need to bargain. Its closed around 5pm and the building is very colourful at night. Linked to this market is Traditional Market (behind).
  • Traditional market that recommedate to visit. In the morning. In front of the main gate we can find traditional food for breakfast. Inside the market we can find batik from the cheapest until the expensive one. Please take some time to take a look and compare the quality before shopping. We can find the qood stuff, good quality with cheaper price (if you compare the price in the store)
  • Looking for cheap souvenirs? This is the place for you. Batik, snacks, handicrafts, even herbs, exist here. Explore! There are so many shops inside. Haggle & fight for the best price! Careful, it'll be packed with people on holidays.
