Satria Coffee Plantation, Ubud

3.4
#22 of 86 in Outdoors in Ubud
Taste authentic Bali teas and coffees at Satria Coffee Plantation, located in a lush jungle setting. This plantation remains best known for offering kopi luwak or civet coffee, produced with beans previously eaten, partially digested, and then excreted by the Asian palm civet, a small tree-climbing animal. Despite--or because of--this undeniably unappealing production method, kopi luwak remains among the most expensive coffees on the planet. Take a guided walk around the jungle plantation to learn more about the unusual production process. Put Satria Coffee Plantation into our Ubud itinerary maker and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

It has brought us our guide by surprise and we have tested the tasting of coffees and teas that are free. The only thing to pay to prove it is the luwak coffee. It can also be purchased. Which you will find in other supermarkets or jobs are not authentic, do not carry the quality certificate, which certifies that it is not a mixture.

We were with our guide there of us all told. Then the free (up to the Luwak coffee) at the Teas here are coffee tasting. Was worth it. Later arises the question whether the animals actually live in the great outdoors and the beans there are collected or maintained the cats in a cage!

Where to stay in Ubud

Sayan Valley offers luxury accommodations atmospherically designed to fit the look and feel of the natural surroundings, with infinity pools, wooden lodges, and yoga-ready verandas aplenty. Less expensive alternatives are also available, albeit with fewer amenities and a little less isolation. If you wish to stay in Ubud itself, look for charming and inexpensive rooms rented by local families (with many including breakfast in the cost), or consider the pricier single-occupancy apartments.
