Puri Saren Palace, Ubud

3.2
#6 of 16 in Sightseeing in Ubud
Landmark Tourist Spot
Wander through a small section of the tranquil grounds of Puri Saren Palace, full of intricate sculptures, religious carvings, and ornate architecture. The palace once served as the former residence of Tjokorda Gede Agung Sukawati (1910–1978), the last ruling monarch of Ubud. Today the grounds are open to the public (not the building though), and hold regular cultural performances featuring masked performers and fire dancers moving to hypnotic percussion. Around the market and eventually became a shopping main. For tourists with fashionable shops and cafes. Lunch about going but I think. Early morning near the famous pork is eaten, too. Next time also if I want to go.

Where to stay in Ubud

Sayan Valley offers luxury accommodations atmospherically designed to fit the look and feel of the natural surroundings, with infinity pools, wooden lodges, and yoga-ready verandas aplenty. Less expensive alternatives are also available, albeit with fewer amenities and a little less isolation. If you wish to stay in Ubud itself, look for charming and inexpensive rooms rented by local families (with many including breakfast in the cost), or consider the pricier single-occupancy apartments.
